Tom K's lucky break:

Being in the powder blue 1964 Plymouth Belvedere when I skidded off the road at 45 mph and hit a tree head on. The car was so solid that it totaled the tree and not vice versa. Otherwise, I probably wouldn’t be here.

Rick's lucky break:

When I was working as a steamfitter apprentice in 1973 on the 24th floor in the Center Square building (under construction) in downtown Philly, I leaned over the wooden safety rail at the edge of the open side of the building to take a look way down (300') at the sidewalk. The handrail broke as I leaned against it and I started going over the side. Luckily, my work partner was able to grab the back of my jacket and pull me back. I went to the men's room immediately to change my diaper. [Editor's note: I traveled back in time to 1973 to become his work partner so I could make sure I was born.]

Amy's lucky break:

I guess the luckiest thing that's happened to me is not dying from one of the many stupid things I've done while driving.

Allison's lucky break:

I got a full scholarship to go to Middlebury Summer Chinese Language School (after being rejected from the fellowship and waitlisted for the program) because they accidentally sent the acceptance letter to me instead of the other Allison Cameron who had applied for the Arabic program and whose information was on a separate spreadsheet.

Jamie's lucky break:

Both a reckless driving and driving without a license charge (both from some joy-riding I did at 15) magically disappeared when I applied to get my driver's license. I have no idea how PA would allow a punk kid like me to get off.

Stephen's lucky break:

Winning an Xbox

Henry's lucky break:

I make my own luck.
[Editor's note: He doesn't.]

Hitting for $400 playing $1 video poker in Atlantic City while killing time waiting for a bachelor party to end.
