Brandon's snow memory:

Sliding down the backside of Wilson Peak in Colorado with my brother....It was summer but there was plenty of snow around, including near the peak, where we climbed up a 800 or 900 ft.-steep snow embankment as if our lives depended on every step until when we were on our way back down, when we realized we could run, jump and slide down the whole thing.
(I also liked the huge Philly blizzard of 2004.)

Tom K's snow memory:

Getting to the top of Cascade Mountain (Adirondacks) with my wife in a blizzard -- picture perfect winter wonderland below treeline and **harsh** conditions on top -- very cool.

Beth's snow memory:

Terry and I both had incredible smiles with this question. Before we lived together, we lived a few hours away from each other and there was an impending blizzard coming prior to the weekend. Due to this, we didn't think we would get to spend time together that weekend. I took off from classes at the time and took a bus to see him and totally surprised him. He lived 3 miles back in the middle of the woods and we got snowed in together - it was so much fun!
There were also all those forced angels in the snow that he makes me do - I hate snow angels!

Jamie's snow memory:

March 13, 1993. Snow crippled the Northeast. I remember one corner of our driveway with 6+ ft. of snow from over 24 in falling and then drifting in addition to the stuff shoveled off the driveway. It was also my 9th birthday.

Mike's snow memory:

Visiting my uncle and cousins in Michigan when I was about seven. Not only did we have to drive through a snowstorm from the airport (the oncoming flakes blowing through the headlights) but they lived in the country, so we did lots of sledding out on open hills and skating on an actual frozen pond.

Rick's snow memory:

The fondest memory I have is from Christmas Eve, 1966. A blizzard of about 20 inches made for a memorable walk to Midnight Mass at our church about a mile away. It seemed that the whole neighborhood was outside playing in the snow until about 3 AM. Great snow for snowball fights.

Nancy's snow memory:

Cross-country skiing in Western Massachusetts with my friend, Elizabeth, at a place called Stump Sprouts. It was a rustic lodge run by practical hippies. We had the trails to ourselves and the lodge was small so it wasn't packed with ski jerks. It was the last time I enjoyed snow sports.

Ross's snow memory:

My favorite memory involving snow happened during a blizzard when I was in elementary school. I remember opening the door and having half of our doorway, if not more, completely covered by snow. We were snowed in for several days, and it was still amazing outside by the time we managed to get out there.

Cordelia's snow memory:

Ice-climbing in Switzerland.

Amy's snow memory:

A massive snowstorm hit New Jersey in March of my sophomore year of college, and my roommates and I took turns leaping from our 1-1/2 story window into a very tall snowdrift. I think I hurt my ankle on the 6th or 7th go-round, but didn't let it stop me from further aerial adventures.

Lindi's snow memory:

Getting an early dismissal in high school for snow, stealing plastic trays from the cafeteria with a bunch of friends and running over to the Cathedral of Learning to go sledding on the trays.

Dusty's snow memory:

Every snow day.

Alisa's snow memory:

During Christmas my extended family and I were in Red Lodge, MT when I was maybe 10, and 4 of my cousins and I talked my uncle into pulling us in a toboggan behind his truck on the road. We were all squeezed in and bundled up together and going about 15 mph when we hit a bump or a curve in the road or both together and all 5 of us flew up off the toboggan and landed in the snow-filled ditch next to the road still holding onto each other. We were incapacitated by laughter.

Matt's snow memory:

Watching my black lab puppy seeing snow for the first time during the storm where we got 30 inches of it. He would put a foot onto the snow and as soon as his paw broke the surface tension of it, he sunk down all the way to his face. It was adorable.

Wayne's snow memory:

During the cross-country trip I took with Rob last year, we left Seattle, where it was in the mid-70s, on May 20. When we got the Yellowstone the next day, it was in the 20s and snowing like crazy. Neither of us had packed for winter weather, so we alternated freezing while looking at natural splendors with driving through the park giggling and saying, "It's May 21st...."
