Rick's bad sleep:
In the mid 1980’s, I spent a Thanksgiving Day night in a sleeping bag on the sidewalk of a retail store in Willow Grove, Pa. The purpose was to claim a spot in line for when the store opened for Black Friday business the next morning at 9AM. The store had advertised the fact that they had 25 Cabbage Patch Dolls for sale that Black Friday and my daughter desperately wanted one for Christmas. I was # 7 in line when my wife relieved me at 6:30 AM so I could leave for work that day. Erica got the doll on Xmas morning.

On the way home from our trip to India - it was a 48-hour process from hotel room to home...I started in the Mumbai airport with significant fever, chills, and numbness of extremities. Couldn't sleep in the airport or on the plane as a result of the symptoms and the concern that I contracted malaria.

Stacy's bad sleep:
On a relatively cold spring night in the Shenandoah, I attempted to
sleep in a poorly constructed tent, in a crappy sleeping bag, in a
severe rain storm, with a terrible cold. All throughout the night,
the stakes kept coming out of the ground and the whole wet slop of a
dome would come crashing down on us, meaning that I had to get out,
get wet, reset the stakes, and attempt to fall back asleep.
